Marble only, ever since

Professional marble repair

Marble is durable. It is not indestructible.

Heavy impact, acidic spills, moisture, daily use, the wrong cleaning product, settling, and installation problems can all leave marble chipped, cracked, scratched, stained, or uneven.

We repair countertops, floors, vanities, showers, walls, fireplace surrounds, entryways, staircases, and other natural stone installations — always with the goal of preserving the original stone whenever repair is practical. Depending on the damage, that may mean filling, bonding, honing, grinding, polishing, refinishing, sealing, or colour-matching the affected area.

What we fix

Marble damage we repair

Marbleblu evaluates and repairs many common forms of marble damage — restoring the original stone wherever repair is practical.

Chipped Marble

Chips commonly develop along countertop edges, sink openings, corners, floor tile edges, thresholds, stair treads, and other exposed areas. Marbleblu may rebuild the damaged section using stone repair materials selected to match the surrounding marble as closely as practical. The repair can then be shaped, leveled, honed, and polished to blend with the existing finish.

Cracked Marble

Cracks can form from impact, movement, weak support, installation stress, temperature changes, or structural movement beneath the stone. Marbleblu evaluates whether the crack is stable, active, surface-level, or related to the installation. A repair may include cleaning the crack, bonding the stone, filling the opening, leveling the surface, and refinishing the area.

Scratched Marble

Surface scratches can make marble look worn, cloudy, or uneven. Deeper scratches may catch a fingernail and require more than standard polishing. Marbleblu removes or reduces scratches through controlled honing, grinding, and polishing. The treatment must extend beyond the individual scratch so the repaired area blends with the surrounding surface.

Etched Marble

Etching is chemical damage caused by acidic substances. Lemon juice, vinegar, wine, coffee, certain bathroom cleaners, and many general household products can react with marble and leave dull, pale, or rough marks. Etch marks are not usually removed with a cleaner. The damaged surface must be professionally honed or polished to restore an even finish.

Stained Marble

Marble can absorb oil, food, cosmetics, rust, moisture, cleaning chemicals, and other materials. A stain changes the color of the stone, while an etch mark changes the surface finish. Marbleblu identifies the likely source and determines whether the discoloration may respond to poultice treatment, surface refinishing, moisture correction, or another repair method.

Dull or Uneven Marble

Marble may lose its finish from foot traffic, cleaning residue, acidic products, abrasive tools, water exposure, or inconsistent previous polishing. Marbleblu can restore a more uniform honed, satin, or polished finish depending on the stone and the client's preference.

Broken Marble Edges and Corners

Countertop corners, vanity edges, thresholds, shower curbs, stair treads, and floor transitions are vulnerable to impact. Marbleblu can evaluate broken edges and corners for repair. Larger missing sections may require a custom insert, rebuilding, or partial replacement.

Open Seams and Joints

Countertop seams and stone joints can become visible when filler deteriorates, sections move, or the original installation was uneven. Marbleblu can inspect open seams, remove loose material where appropriate, refill the joint, and refinish the surrounding area.

Holes, Pits, and Surface Voids

Some marble and natural stone contain natural voids. Others develop pits from wear, impact, or previous damage. Marbleblu can fill suitable holes and pits, level the repair, and match the surrounding finish as closely as practical.

Uneven Marble Tiles

Uneven tile edges are commonly known as lippage. Lippage may be caused by installation conditions, tile variation, settling, or movement beneath the floor. When the installation allows it, Marbleblu can grind the high edges, hone the surface, and restore the floor to a more consistent finish.

Marble Floor Repair

Marble floors often develop scratches, traffic lanes, dull areas, chips, cracks, stains, damaged grout, and uneven tile edges.

Where We Repair Marble Floors

  • Apartments
  • Condominiums & Co-ops
  • Townhouses & Private Homes
  • Offices & Hotels
  • Lobbies & Retail Properties
  • Restaurants & Commercial Buildings

Floor repair may include chip filling, crack repair, grinding, honing, polishing, grout treatment, stain treatment, and sealing.

For broader damage, Marbleblu may recommend restoring the full floor rather than treating isolated areas. This helps produce a more uniform finish and prevents visible differences between repaired and unrepaired sections.

Bathroom & Shower

Marble Shower and Bathroom Repair

Marble showers and bathrooms are exposed to water, soap, cosmetics, minerals, body oils, and frequent cleaning.

Common Bathroom Concerns

  • Darkened marble
  • Water staining
  • Etching
  • Soap residue
  • Dull shower walls
  • Worn shower floors
  • Cracked grout & open joints
  • Chipped thresholds & damaged vanity tops
  • Discolored grout lines

Marbleblu evaluates whether the issue is surface damage, absorbed moisture, grout deterioration, sealer failure, or an installation concern.

Some dark areas may need additional drying time before the stone returns to its normal appearance. Persistent moisture can also indicate a condition that should be addressed before cosmetic restoration.

Additional Surfaces

Marble Stair, Threshold, and Entryway Repair

Stair treads, risers, thresholds, landings, and entry floors receive concentrated wear and impact.

Marbleblu repairs chips, cracks, scratches, worn edges, dull traffic areas, and damaged joints on suitable marble staircases and entry installations. Repairs are shaped and refinished to blend with the surrounding stone while preserving safe and practical transitions.

Fireplace Surround Repair

Marble fireplace surrounds can develop chips, cracks, soot residue, scratches, stains, and dull areas. Marbleblu can inspect and repair suitable marble fireplace components, including hearths, mantels, wall panels, and surrounding stone. Heat-related movement, loose sections, or structural concerns may require additional evaluation before refinishing.

How we work

Our marble repair process

Every marble repair follows the same proven eight steps — so the result is consistent, the room stays protected, and nothing is left to chance.

Phones answered 24/7. Free next-day estimates in most of our service areas.

  1. 1

    Surface Evaluation

Marbleblu identifies the stone, finish, type of damage, depth of damage, previous treatments, and surrounding installation conditions.

  2. 2

    Surface Protection

Before work begins, Marbleblu protects surrounding areas including cabinets, appliances, baseboards, walls, fixtures, furniture, and walkways.

  3. 3

    Cleaning & Preparation

The damaged area is cleaned and prepared so the repair material can bond properly. Loose filler, residue, or failed previous repairs are removed.

  4. 4

    Repair & Filling

Marbleblu selects the repair method: chip rebuilding, crack filling, seam filling, void filling, edge reconstruction, bonding, or color adjustment.

  5. 5

    Honing or Grinding

The repaired area is leveled using professional abrasives. Honing and grinding remove surface damage, flatten repairs, and prepare the stone for finishing.

  6. 6

    Polishing or Refinishing

Marbleblu restores the appropriate finish — polished, honed, or satin — to match the surrounding marble as closely as practical.

  7. 7

    Sealing

When suitable, Marbleblu applies an impregnating stone sealer after restoration. Sealer helps slow the absorption of moisture and staining materials.

  8. 8

    Final Inspection

Marbleblu inspects the completed repair, removes protective materials, and explains the appropriate curing, drying, cleaning, and maintenance requirements.

Aftercare

Keeping the finish you paid for

Marble is reactive — most damage we repair was caused by an ordinary household product. These two lists are the whole of it: what's safe on stone, and what will etch it within minutes.

Safe on marble

  • Marbleblu Stone Cleaner
  • Marbleblu Polisher
  • Marbleblu Disinfectant
  • Soft microfiber cloths and non-abrasive pads
  • Wiping spills promptly

Will damage marble

  • Vinegar
  • Lemon-based cleaners
  • Acidic bathroom cleaners
  • Abrasive powders and rough scrub pads
  • Unapproved degreasers
  • Cleaners not labeled for natural stone

Wine, coffee, citrus, oil, cosmetics. Clean them promptly — they're the usual culprits behind etches and stains.
